Free Day of Dentistry 2016

Visiting the dentist can be a financial stretch for many — yet avoiding dental care eventually leads to even greater problems. On Saturday, November 12th, Parsippany dentist Dr. Alan Rauchberg waived his fees for any adult or child in need of a check-up. He and his staff provided cleanings, fillings and extractions – donating $10,000 worth of care in one day so people with financial constraints can stay on top of their oral care.

“Good dental hygiene has significant health benefits and people need to view dental care as a critical part of their overall health,” says Dr. Rauchberg, who is also the president of the American Association of Dental Practice.

The volunteer team led by Dr. Alan included his father, practice founder Dr. Joel Rauchberg, along with Dr. Lajja Patel, Dr. Niyati Sheth, and a dedicated office staff. A special thanks to Baldwin Pizzeria and Baldwin Bagel for donating food, and Henry Schein who donated dental supplies. The practice holds a free day of dentistry annually. Parsippany Dentist Educates Community About Life-Changing Treatment

Dr. Alan Rauchberg is on a mission. By year’s end, he’ll have hosted ten seminars educating the community about the best-kept secret in dentistry—dental implants. And, because of the widespread interest he’s experiencing at his presentations, his lecture series won’t be ending any time soon. That’s because nothing excites Dr. Rauchberg more than seeing the life-changing effects dental implants have had on his patients—not just the immediate benefits, but, more exciting, knowing that today’s implant technologies provide a 98 percent success rate over a patient’s lifetime.

“Teeth deteriorate as we get older,” says Dr. Rauchberg of the Rauchberg Dental Group, a multi-specialty practice in Parsippany. “Dental implants not only help to stave off the aging process but, equally important, they allow people to fall in love with their smile again.” An award-winning general, cosmetic and restorative dentist, Dr. Rauchberg explains that when treatment is complete and his patients are enjoying corn on the cob, apples and crusty breads, they all say the same thing, ‘Doc, I should have done this sooner.’

Dr. Rauchberg’s seminar topics include the pros and cons of dentures, bridges and dental implants, and how he tailors treatment to meet each patient’s unique dental needs. He also discusses flexible payment options and concludes with insightful questions from the audience. “What used to be available only to the rich and famous, is now available to everyone,” says Dr. Rauchberg, who offers a free in-office consultation for anyone considering a dental implant so that they can make informed, intelligent decisions about their oral health.

Elaine Nachshen chose to pursue dental implants after experiencing pain from her 30-year-old deteriorating crowns. “I discussed my options with Dr. Rauchberg and it was clear that a permanent implant was my best alternative,” says Nachshen, a self-proclaimed coward when it comes to dental treatment. “The whole process was virtually painless and took place in stages. Once complete, I felt like my smile had been restored and knew I had made the right decision.”Nachshen was so pleased in fact that she decided to get another fixed implant on the other side. “Now, my teeth look, feel and function beautifully. It’s really wonderful,” she says.

According to Dr. Rauchberg, a lost or severely damaged tooth reduces chewing ability and creates social and emotional limitations. It also causes shifting and bite changes within the mouth, and can result in bone loss of about 50 percent within six months of a tooth falling out. Other potential side effects include nerve pain, collapse of the facial muscles and wrinkles around the mouth – which can make a person look older.

In contrast, dental implants mirror the structure and strength of an original tooth, allowing people to regain over 80 percent of their tooth’s natural function and biting power. This translates to better eating habits, improved overall health and increased life expectancy.

Dr. Rauchberg cautions that restoring existing teeth should always be a dentist’s first consideration, but if a tooth is chipped or cracked beyond repair, dental implants are an excellent alternative for a single tooth or a full mouth restoration. To learn more, Dr. Rauchberg’s next dental implant open houses are scheduled for Tuesday, October 25th and Tuesday December 6th starting at 5:45 p.m. at the Holiday Inn, 707 Route 46 East, Parsippany, where he raffles off a free dental implant for a lucky attendee. To register, call 973-524-7048. For those who cannot attend, Dr. Rauchberg will mail a free report about dental implants.
